A month in my mind...January 2022
And just like that it is the end of January. Only February to go before we start to feel like we are slowly moving out of Winter and into Spring, where we get to see all the spring bulbs come to life and add that all important burst of colour into our gardens.
I hope you enjoy seeing what I got up to for the first month of 2022, with client work, my own personal work and things that have inspired me.

Client Work
I had a lovely month of work in January, from house particular and Spa brochure designs, GIF animations, report designs and lots of social media tile and story designs for my regular clients.
Below are two pieces of client work from January.
Triggerfish
Project: Restaurant Menu Design and Illustration
Creating an illustration for each of the different menus for Park House Hotel was a really lovely job to be part of. Illustrations have a way of bringing personality and joy onto a page.
Front Row Fitness
Project: Social Media Gif Tile
Another way I love to bring Social Media grids to life and keep things fresh is to create GIF style tiles. The squiggly circle moves around, supporting the phrase on the tile.

Re-brand development
After A LOT of procrastination I have taken the plunge to
re-brand. Working on your own business can feel tough.
I am taking my time with my re-brand and using it as a way
to re-look at the branding process that I offer my clients.
I have spent time sketching out elements that I would like to
form part of my overall brand.
I am hoping to have the re-brand all complete by end of February.
Learning
Showcasing my final piece from the gouache course by Every Tuesday.
Playing
I signed up to another Every Tuesday course all about lettering, it has definitely been fun and challenging so far. Hopefully more to show next month.

What makes me tick
I love keeping notes of things that excite, inspire and set my world on fire, whether thats a magazine designed beautifully, podcasts, beautiful packaging, or a colour that catches my eye.
Below are things that inspired me last month.
Left image: I have enjoyed taking inspiration from the gorgeous layouts in Bloom magazine. If you are into design and gardening this magazine is a perfect combination to be enjoyed with a cuppa :)
Middle image: I was totally blown away when I came across these paper creations by Hannah Levesque, an absolutely stunning talent. She creates poetic miniature scenes all crafted out of paper. Right image: The wonders that can be found in Antique shops. Antique shops are a magical treasure trove of wonder, it is like stepping into another little world. I picked up these little vases and was so pleased they fitted perfectly on the wooden beam above out log burner. The dried flowers have been taken from the wreath I made at Christmas. Can’t wait to do a little drawing of them.
