The difference between a logo and a brand
This question crops up often when I take on a new project because the difference between 'logos' and 'brands' gets confused. So, no more! Let me clear up the confusion. Below is a quick overall between the two.
We see logos all the time - in the little circles on our Instagram profiles, on packaging, websites and more - they are all around us. Logos can become iconic, we can spot a business straight away from its logo. A logo forms part of the overall company's brand.
A Brand, however, is different.
A brand is the overarching 'feeling' you want to create for your customers about your business. It is about creating a look and feel that people will ultimately buy into, fall in love with and shout about; it encompasses your core values, tone of voice, image styling, packaging and online styling. It focuses on all the touch points of your business.
Never underestimate the power of getting your branding right, it can make or break a business.
